Keeping it simple

Too often, we read the ingredient labels of other personal care products and feel overwhelmed by unpronounceable string of consonants (Does anyone really know how to say cyclopentasiloxane?)

At DSA, we do our best to keep our natural solutions as simple as possible. Not only does it give everyone the peace of mind they need, but helps us save on label ink costs.

Deodorants

Mainstream antiperspirants smell pleasant and stop us from sweating – but that’s not actually a good thing.

Our deodorants are made differently, made to work with your body, not against it.

The problem with your current antiperspirant

Many deodorants and antiperspirants contain aluminum-metal compounds like aluminum chlorohydrate or aluminum zirconium. Such compounds are highly-soluble and readily absorbed into the bloodstream, where the aluminum portion of the molecule ionizes to form free, radical aluminum. These molecules are then absorbed into liver, kidney, brain, cartilage, and bone marrow cells. While ever-developing, the medical community has researched and confirmed potential correlations between blood aluminum concentrations and Alzheimer’s disease, breast cancer, and other devastating diseases and conditions.

Plus, sweating is your body's method to remove toxins. Why would you want to stop that by clogging your pores? Just eliminate the smell!

Our secret ingredient?

Salt.

Potassium alum, while it sounds similar to "aluminum," is a colorless, salt, crystalline structure drawn from bauxite ore. Bauxite ore forms during the rapid weathering of granite rocks in warm, humid climates, and is purified and converted directly into alum. Potassium alum acts only on the surface of the skin, lowering its pH just enough to target and prevent the growth of odor-causing bacteria.

Potassium alum has a wide variety of applications beyond deodorizing as well, from medical and industrial areas to uses in food, cosmetics, and even art.

So what does this all meanWhy are DSA deodorants special?

Whether you're shopping Thai, Pure & Natural, Crystalux, or one of our many private label brands, your deodorant is guaranteed to be 100% natural and free of aluminum metals, parabens, propyls, sulfates, nitrites, and other nasty chemicals.

If you're using an unscented deodorant, then we can also promise you it is perfectly hypoallergenic and will not stain your favorite t-shirt with oils.

Finally, we promise all our deodorants are safe for all genders, ages, and body regions (yes, even those intimate areas!)

Our new scented deodorants and essential oils

For years, our customers have been asking for a scented deodorant, and in 2020, we delivered with our first line of scents: citrus & juniper, floral, lavender & jasmine, and tea tree & floral.

We scent our deodorants using 100% naturally occurring essential oils. While these deodorants may not be perfectly hypoallergenic since every person's skin is different, we can promise they will be non-staining and smell AMAZING!

Ayaté Exfoliation

Experience the wonders of agave

Our Ayaté line of exfoliating washcloths and body scrubbers is made from the agave plant. Known as the “tree of wonders,” agave has been cultivated for thousands of years, and is used in countless products. This all-natural cloth requires a labor-intensive process, in which the leaves are cut and cooked, pounded into fibrous strands, and softened beneath rocks for up to a week. The fibers are then scraped and washed clean of debris, soaked in a natural lime solution, and hung to dry. Once dry, they are hand woven, knitted, or crocheted into Ayaté squares. They only need to be soaked in water to activate their natural, powerful exfoliation.
